Ultrasonic sensors offer a powerful and versatile solution for non-contact object detection in demanding industrial environments. Thanks to their high precision and reliability, they detect objects regardless of color, shape, or material condition—even transparent, irregularly shaped, or very small objects with a thickness of only 1 mm are reliably detected.
The technology is based on the principle of sound transit time measurement: a short ultrasonic pulse is emitted and the echo reflected by the object is detected by the sensor. The time measured until the echo arrives allows the distance to be determined precisely. Thanks to high sound frequencies of 70 to 500 kHz, the sensors achieve extremely fast response times of less than 50 ms – and even as low as 1.5 ms in certain models.
These sensors really shine in harsh environments. Series with E2 and ECOLAB certification and high electromagnetic compatibility guarantee reliable operation even under tough conditions. This makes ultrasonic sensors the perfect choice for precise and robust object detection in a wide range of industrial applications. |
