Wear-free switching of loads

Solid state relays offer a modern solution for controlling electrical circuits. With their compact design and the use of semiconductor components, they enable a high number of switching cycles and a long service life.

Overall, solid state relays offer a reliable, compact and durable alternative to electromechanical relays.

  • No moving parts, no wear and tear
  • Position-independent installation

Good reasons for Solid state relais

Lange Lebensdauer

Wear-free
Long service life

Due to the absence of moving parts, solid state relays are very well suited for fast and continuous switching operations, as there are no signs of wear.

Geräuschlos schalten

Psssssst....
Silent switching

No audible switching process for noise-sensitive applications. The switching status is indicated by an LED in most series.

Heavy Duty Applikationen

Uncomplicated
Position-independent installation and vibration-resistant

As there are no moving parts in a solid-state relay, it can be mounted upside down or on the wall.

Even shocks and vibrations do not trigger any switching operations.

Good to know
Power and waste heat
As many advantages as solid state relays have, they do not like heat at all. As the ambient temperature rises, the switching capacity drops rapidly. The ambient temperature is also affected by the waste heat generated by the solid state relays themselves.

Heat sinks are used to counteract this. Some series have an integrated heat sink, others are screwed onto an external one. The higher the power to be switched, the larger the heat sink should be. The corresponding curve for each relay can be found in the data sheets.

However, there are also applications in which the heat development is actively used to heat up the switch cabinet and thus prevent freezing, for example.
