Solutions for detecting the tin side of glass & float glass | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Being on the safe side The tin side of glass is also known as the float side of glass and refers to the way glass is made. To ensure that the finished product is perfectly flat, the molten glass is floated over a bed of molten tin. As the glass moves over the tin and settles, some of the tin is absorbed into the glass. Once the glass leaves the manufacturer, companies using the material for their own manufacturing purposes must be able to distinguish the tin side of the glass from the opposite side (which is called the air side). This is where a tin-side glass sensor comes into play, taking over the time-consuming processes otherwise associated with manual efforts. The sensor reliably detects the tin side of the glass. |
